Dental disease is the most common problem suffered by adult dogs and cats and yet it is almost totally preventable. As a preventative healthcare nurse, my primary role is to provide you with expert educational information regarding oral health, home hygiene routines and preventative care. Please note: I do not offer cosmetic ultrasonic scaling or teeth polishing. I firmly believe that comprehensive, effective, and humane dental care can only be fully achieved under a general anaesthetic at your veterinary practice. I am a qualified Oral Health Nurse recognised by the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). I provide professional guidance on home care routines, toothbrushing techniques, and safe dietary alternatives. If your pet requires clinical intervention, I am trained to identify those issues and advise you when it is time to visit your vet.

During the examination I will:

• Grade & Evaluate: Assess your pet's current dental health stage.
• Nutritional Advice: Recommend effective dental diets, chews and plaque control options.
• Demonstration: Teach and demonstrate proper dental home care, introducing you to safe antimicrobial procedures and products.
• In-Clinic Care: Brush your pets teeth using a pet safe, enzymatic toothpaste.
• Desensitisation: Guide you on encouraging habitual handling of the mouth and gums to desensitise your pet to regular oral checks.
• Clinical Screening: Identify whether sub-gingival ultrasonic scaling or surgery is required.
• Veterinary Referral: Promptly refer you back to your regular vet if I identify active pathology, such as oral masses, lumps, advanced tooth decay, feline resorptive lesions or fractured teeth.
